About the Host

Described by Kate Hammett-Vaughan as "the hardest working man in jazz business." Cory Weeds covers every role on the Vancouver jazz scene. He is the owner of The Cellar Restaurant / Jazz club which as been voted in the Top 100 Jazz Clubs Worldwide by Downbeat Magazine 4 years in a row. He is the owner of Cellar Live Records which has won Label Of The Year for the past two years at The National Jazz Awards.  On top of that he is an accomplished saxophonist.  His recent recording Everything's Coming Up Weeds spent 19 week on the Jazz Week Charts in the U.S. making it as high as #6.  In January, 2010 Weeds will be recording his third record as a leader featuring organist Joey Defrancesco.  Weeds is no stranger to the airwaves either. He has hosted Chasin The Train on 102.7 CFRO for the last 15 years.
